At Gallery 42 we pride ourselves on being able to nurture and promote new talent. We'll share the current stuff with you right here...

Below you can find a list of what we consider to be the best new upcoming talent, from artists working in various mediums from various places, but we like to keep them local or from 'up North' if we can, so as to support neighbouring cities and counties.

Ellie Moore - Painter, Illustrator - Works Yorkshire

Ellie Moore is the brilliant young woman behind the framing finishes at Gallery 42. You know your Stone Rabbit frame hanging gleefully on your wall? Well, it probably took her a full day - if not longer. It just so happens Ellie is a brilliant artist as well and she has recently completed a Foundation Art Course at York College. Furthermore, she spent over a month away in Europe over the summer, almost all of it spent on a painting course in Florence. She achieved the highest possible grade in her Foundation course and her work from the course is outstanding. When you look through this gallery of her work, we're sure you'll see why. Included in the gallery below is a selection of Ellie's work. Currently her miniatures are proving very, very popular and she has just fulfilled a commission which premiered at the opening of Saxton Cricket Pavilion in June 2013, which you can see images of in the gallery below. She really is one to watch. We will shortly have even more images of Ellie's work

Matt Dixon - Photographer - works Yorkshire

Steve went to school with Matt and has known him since Year 7 (11 years of age). Even he didn't realise Matt would flourish into a great photographer exhibiting in galleries! Matt has studied graphic design at Tadcaster Grammar School for 4 years as well as studying photography. His work is full of life and his vivid compositions can be seen on his website, www.focusphotomd.com.

Steve Lawson - painter, sculptor, photographer - works Yorkshire / London

As well as curating exhibitions and managing this website, Steve dabbles in various artistic avenues, painting and drawing in particular. Although primarily influenced by Dalí and other Surrealists, Steve's influences also include Monet, Degas and Klee.
