This miniature Georgian room is constructed around two viewpoints. From the eyeline of a fictional inhabitant, the room is viewed through the doorway, and through an aperture in the window. The room on view extends beyond the physical boundaries of the box.

I work from life and photographs, and the process of rendering the subject in paint often leads me down research rabbit holes about the object or area and its stories. Paintings often lead one into the other, and I find myself follow themes, whether it’s coastal ruins or ancient trees, or following the course of a river.
