ABOUT US

Gallery 42 was established in 1989 by husband and wife team Rod and Liz Allison. Over the years our gallery has transformed into a place of development, growth and activity for artists and customers alike and today that has never been more true.

We display and sell a great variety of art that spans all genres - there truly is something for everyone. We pride ourselves in showcasing the art of local and upcoming artists and we have acted as a platform for local artists Allen Tortice, David J Markham and Nel Whatmore, who continue to show work in our gallery today.

For sale are literally thousands of originals and prints. Famous names present and past include L S Lowry, Henri Matisse and Sir Terry Frost.

We offer a variety of services including framing and conservation and all work is carried out onsite by our skilled team. We can advise you on the best way(s) to display, frame and conserve work and that advice is, of course, completely free. Such advice comes from years of experience and a continuing commitment to understanding and catering for our clients' diverse requirements.

As well as framing artwork, we recently have framed certificates, part of a fireplace, a giant flag, a Dalí print, medieval artefacts, a wooden duck and John Noakes' Blue Peter Presenter's Badge. Oh, and someone's taxidermied lobster.

Enquiries

Do visit us in person or using the contact form (email) over under the 'CONTACT' tab. We endeavour to reply to enquiries within 24 hours but we don't usually read emails on Sundays (because everyone needs to relax a bit, right?)

We have a large 'shop' area which displays our huge selection of artists' materials, the vast majority of which are from Winsor & Newton - this is a vast section and continues to be updated. Please ring for your requirements if you are coming for specialist items.
